The Mellette House was original built in 1885 as the home of South Dakota's first governor, Arthur Calvin Mellette. Today the amazing house is a pristine example elegant Italianate architecture that was popular amongst affluent citizens in the late 19th century. The historic residence is located withing walking distance of Prairie Lakers Hospital, near Bramble Park.
